POUND CAKE FAQ
First off, our formula is entirely custom. From the ingredient list, the unique Cake Batter smell you like, that’s ALL custom. We’re the first brand to create products for people of various skin AND lip tones. Your lip tone can affect the way a lipstick/product shows up, and Pound Cake knows this and addresses this by offering slight variations of one color for different skin and lip categories.

This was a commitment made between our founders, Camille and Johnny, to prioritize and elevate BIPOC folks both on the surface and behind the scenes of Pound Cake. This commitment came with the guarantee that Pound Cake would always listen to its community to prevent and correct problematic messaging and actions. The badge itself was inspired by a tweet from one of our favorite influencers, Jackie Aina.
To keep it clean, every single product we ship out has our Racism-free stamp so no one forgets what we are and what we stand for. 😊

Yes, yes, and yes! Our line is 100% vegan, baby!
Parabens are a ‘hell no’ for us. We use the best possible ingredients in our products, including vegan flavoring and natural oils, and thoughtful formulation with minimal to no preservatives.
All of our products are cruelty-free! We do not test our products or ingredients on animals. We wouldn’t dare test any of our products on our furry friends and we are not affiliated with any other beauty company or suppliers that test on animals. We’re currently in the approval process to be Leaping Bunny Certified! 🐰
We’re glad you asked. The Pound Cake Lip test is our secret weapon to find your true red. Not only did we create a unique formula that is velvety, creamy, highly opaque, and moisturizing, but we put together a test that offers you the perfect red based on your unique skin and lip tone combination. We suggest using our lip products without lip balm as a base. Our team worked on this formula for three years to ensure our products included the perfect amount of restoring Vitamin E and soothing Avocado Oil. Both ingredients help with natural moisturizing the lips, which is essentially why our product leaves just a lil’ lasting hints of product wherever you go.
Don’t have a liner? No worries! We picked a specific doe-foot applicator to make sure our customers, regardless of lip size, could easily get in the corners and line their lips for the perfect pout!

Your credit card will be charged as soon as your order is accepted and processed.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, JCB, Discover, or debit cards. Unfortunately, we cannot accept checks or money orders.
Damn! It happens to the best of us. Here are a few things to check if your payment didn’t go through: Check that your card’s billing details (such as the security code and billing address) match what you’ve entered into our system.

Your card issuer may have declined your payment. They don’t tell us the reason for this, so it’s best to check with them before trying your card again. If none of these apply, please contact us at hi@poundcake.com. We’re happy to help!
